Iron Eyes Cody was a regular part of McCoy's Saturday show, at least in SoCal. Although not, himself, Native American, he lived his adult life as one. He related indian lore to us kids as part of the show.
Tim McCoy participated in both WWI and WWII. The only other actor I know who did so was George O'Brien, a silent star, whose career ended as a supporting actor in John Ford westerns.
