Paging John Wayne-1950

Seeing as how the story told here of Wayne's getting his iconic role in STAGECOACH discounts his decade of already having worked in pictures--often ins starring roles, albeit in low budget affairs--is not correct, I'd take the rest--likely NOT written by the Duke--with a grain of salt as well.
